Wanting to join but don’t have any qualifying documentation?

We recommend always starting with a conversation with your family doctor or specialist, asking if they would be agreeable to prescribing you medical cannabis for your condition. The stigma around cannabis as a whole is slowly but surely starting to lift, and more and more doctors are willing to prescribe. So stay optimistic.

Many find it helpful to do some research online as to how cannabis helps their particular condition, print it, and take it to their doctor in an attempt to help them understand the benefits. Sometimes this is received well, sometimes not. But worth a try none the less.

You may also want to bring along this generic Medical Document along with you for the doctor to fill out. Some doctors are willing to prescribe cannabis, but honestly don’t know what form to use as it isn’t written like a traditional prescription is. In those cases having a sample document can be the difference between a prescription, and no prescription.

Tele-Medicine

If you are unsuccessful obtaining a prescription from a physician locally, there is always the option of seeking a tele-medicine appointment (a 7 minute appointment over skype) with a doctor out of the province. To do that we recommend contacting www.cannaconnect.ca to get the process started.

There is a $200 cost for this service, payable directly to Cannaconnect.

The Do No Harm Clinic

The Do No Harm Clinic provides patients with ‘Medical Opinion’ documents that are sufficient for membership with our dispensary and most others, but not Health Canada regulated Licensed Producers.

The entire process is done on line, and costs $100 (paid to the DNH Clinic, not us).
